Public Computing – Korhan Erel (Em144)
Korhan Erel is a Turkish improviser, sound designer and composer based in Istanbul, Turkey. He plays a self-designed computer instrument called Omnibus. He also uses analog and digital electronics. He is a founding member of Islak Kopek, Turkey’s pioneer free improvisation group, which is regarded as the band that started the free improvisation scene in Turkey. He composes and designs sounds for dance, theatre, installations and film. He collaborates with dancers, video artists and spoken word artists on stage.
This album contains two recent solo performances by Korhan Erel in Istanbul on the Omnibus in 2011.
