First Fonik gig in 12 months at Manchester Art Crawl

I was pleased to re-launch the duo Fonik last Friday (15th April) at the opening of the Manchester Art Crawl. It took place at the very lovely Islington Mill, Salford. The Manchester Art Crawl is an artist led event originally devised by art students at Manchester School of Art and is one of the official events of the ‘Not Part Of’ festival running alongside The Manchester International Festival.

The evening began with an introduction and then open submissions for the 2011 event (complete with Rocket Launch). The rest of the night was made up of performances from 5 Manchester bands / artists. Fonik played last thing providing a 40 minute blissed out soundtrack to something vaguely post apocalyptic. We felt is was a fitting return and many thanks to Rosanne for asking us. Other noteworthy sets came from Debbie ‘Elvis’ Sharpe and Dave Birchall (Primate Engineer)

Thanks particularly to Rosanne for putting it all together and asking us to play.
